✅ Travel Photo Habits Checklist
by Carolyn Moshier, Coastal Photo Organization
📱 Back Up While You’re Away
☐ Enable automatic backups to your cloud service (Google Photos, iCloud, Amazon Photos, etc.)
☐ Offload photos from your camera to a laptop or portable drive daily
☐ Keep your memory card files intact until you’re safely home
📸 Take Photos with Intention
☐ Frame your shots with care—slow down and focus
☐ Capture people and moments, not just scenery
☐ Choose 1–2 photos each day that tell a story
☐ Delete duplicates and blurry shots each night
🗂️ Stay Organized On the Go
☐ Create folders by day or destination if using a laptop (e.g., “Day 3 – Florence”)
☐ Add brief notes or context to photos (caption tools, notes app, etc.)
☐ Use location tags and facial recognition on your phone for easier sorting later
💾 Once You’re Home
☐ Clean up your collection—delete what you don’t need
☐ Move your best shots into a permanent folder or album (by trip or year)
☐ Back up everything in at least 2 places (cloud + physical drive)
☐ Create a photo book or slideshow to enjoy and share
🎁 Bonus Tip: Set a weekly reminder to manage your photos—it’s a gift to your future self!
